Welcome to PaintingProsInc.com
Thank you for visiting our website. Having your home repainted or repaired should be a
pleasant experience from start to finish. Please take the time to do a litte homework and
hire the best contractor for the job. While the argument is often "you get what you pay for,"
many customers end up disappointed and frustrated because they took the lowest bid. A
legitimate contractor will offer the best value and service at a reasonable price and guarantee
the work. Please ask yourself the following 11 questions before you hire a contractor.

|
-
Is the contractor you're dealing with insured?

A paint contractor should carry two types of insurance. The first type is general liability
insurance. The MININUM requirement should be one million dollars of general liability
insurance. Your contractor should also carry a workers compensation policy on
employees. Failure to check for the existence of these two basic policies could open you up
to the potential for liability in the event of an accident. The contractor should either be
be able to produce an insurance certificate of give you the name and number of the insurance
carrier and the policy numbers.
-
Does the paint contractor have a list of references or a portfolio to demonstrate his ability to
successfully complete the project you have planned?

If not, can he give you the names to call for references? Any legitimate contractor will come
highly recommended. The existence of a portfolio will demonstrate his need for order and
committment to quality.
-
Did the contractor supply you with a detailed written proposal outlining the work to be done?

If not, how will you ever get what you are paying for? A written proposal should say exactly
what is to be done, outlining the basic procedures to provide the quality you expect.
-
In the proposal, did the contractor tell you what type and brand of material they plan to use on
your project?

There is a big difference between "contractor grade" material and top of the line paints.
BEWARE: A lot of contractors use the cheap stuff to save money, or so they think. Always
demand the best quality paints for your project. Top quality material is easier to apply,
covers better, and lasts longer than the cheaper grade material and simply does not cost that much
more. Always remember that the biggest expense for the contractor is the labor, not the
material.
-
Is the preparation work outlined in the proposal?

The preparation work can be as much as 3/4 of any given job, but the preparation has everthing to
do with the lifespan of the paint. A job site should be cleaned, sanded, caulked, and puttied
as needed so that the new finish will be smooth and adhere properly.
-
Do the weather conditions allow the work to be done in the timeframe the contractor proposes to
complete the work>

-
Is the contractor willing to listen to your wants and needs, or is he just trying to sell you a
paint job?

This may sound odd, but I believe a contractor should be a good listener first and salesman
second. This is the only way to provide the outstanding quality and service you
deserve. After all, you are the one paying the bill. Please don't let anyone sell you
something you don't want or need.
-
Is the contractor prepared on the first visit to provide you with the color charts and proposal
you require to make a decision?

This should tell you a lot about dependability. In special situations, a contractor may need
to do a little research to provide you with the best coating for the job. In ordinary
situations, they should be able to specify the proper material that is of quality to make your
project last.
-
Does the paint crew appear neat and professional?

If the workers are not neat and clean, you will probably have a difficult time getting a high
quality job regardless of how much you pay. The norm for the industry is "professionals" wear
clean whites.
-
What is your feeling about these individuals?

Sometimes a first impression is the most accurate one.
-
Does the contractor guarantee his work?

At the Painting Pros, we offer a 100% no risk guarantee. If you are unhappy with any certain
area of your paint job, we will repaint that area for free. We have been in Omaha for 14
years and will be here to service our customers for life.
If you are looking for a painter that mans your job with unskilled labor and uses second line
products, then we are probably not the company for you.
On the other hand, if you expect nothing less than the highest quality workmanship, using the best
materials money can buy, and a company that invests in skilled craftsmen who are trained to give
you the best for your investment, and the great looking, long lasting finish product you deserve,
the it would be our privilege to work for you.
